Born in 1983, Jesse Dochnahl was born and raised in the mountain metropolis of Ennis, Montana. He holds a degree in music education and saxophone performance from Lawrence University, where he studied with Steve Jordheim. Jesse won first-prize honors in the 2005 national finals of the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) Woodwind Young Artists competition, as well as the Lawrence University 2005 Concerto Competition. As an active chamber musician and soloist, Jesse has performed in Japan, as well as the 2003 World Saxophone Congress, the U.S. Navy International Saxophone Symposium, and other conventions and competitions across the country. He is a committed supporter of new music and has given numerous premieres by established and emerging composers. Jesse is currently pursuing his thirst for teaching as the director of bands at Sheboygan Falls High School, Wisconsin.
